香港教育大学（教大）为一所政府资助大学，提供副学位、学士学位、修读式学士后及研究生等全方位课程。本校传承多所前师范院校在教师教育方面的深厚基础，致力为本港学校培训优秀教师。每年，约有一千名专业的学前、小学及中学教师于本校毕业，而本港逾八成已完成培训的幼稚园及小学教师，以及三成已受训的中学教师均为本校毕业生。我们更是发展特殊教育的先锋。自2003/2004年度行政长官卓越教学奖设立以来，七成半获奖者亦为本校毕业生。在2019Quacquarelli Symonds(QS) 世界大学学科的最新排名中，香港教育大学再教育领域位列全球第九、亚洲第二（仅次于排名全球第七的香港大学）。
